Contract: Full-time, 2-year fixed term with potential for extension
40 hours per week Monday – Friday, 8:30-17:00
About the role:
As an HR Business Partner, you will provide a strategic and solutions‑focused HR service to senior managers, creating a culture of empowerment within operational teams and supporting leaders to confidently manage people matters. You will play an active role in shaping and delivering the HR agenda, contributing to regional and divisional operational meetings, and influencing decision‑making at a senior level. A key part of the role involves developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies, procedures, and operational strategies to ensure alignment with the company’s goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will be based north of the M25, particularly in London, Essex, or Hertfordshire as you will be covering branches across multiple regions including London, Kent, Essex, West Sussex, and the South West.

Principal Accountabilities:
- To provide clear and concise strategic advice to senior management covering all aspects of workforce planning, talent management, performance management, succession planning, and organisational design
- Manage end to end TUPE processes, ensuring legal compliance and smooth employee transitions during business transfers, mobilisations, and demobilisations
- Lead on restructures from planning through implementation, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, effective stakeholder engagement, and compliance with employment legislation
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and hands on support on complex employee relations matters, including dispute resolution, grievance handling, disciplinary processes, and conflict management
- Support and guide senior management in developing effective trade union relationships, and, where appropriate, establish positive and productive employee forums to foster open communication and collaboration
- Partner with leadership to design and implement employee engagement and retention strategies that enhance organisational performance
- Ensure all HR policies, procedures, and practices are aligned with operational requirements and local agreements
- Collaborate with Management teams to create people plans and support the identification and development of succession pipelines
- Leverage HR data and workforce analytics to inform strategic decision making, identify emerging trends, and recommend targeted interventions that support business objectives
Essential Experience:
- Experience of providing remote and face-face employment advice to managers at all levels
- Full driving licence and be able to travel nationwide
- Experience of working within the public and private sector to include local government, central government and housing associations / management
- Experience of large restructure and change management programmes
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and managing multiple work streams effectively
- Experience in all key areas of the principal accountabilities
- You will have current experience working across the whole HR function and have up to date knowledge on employment law
- In depth knowledge and experience of operating at a senior management level in HR
- Ability to empower, influence and persuade senior management on complex HR employee relations issues
- Significant Regional HR experience
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Problem solving, analytical and negotiation skills
- Customer focused and driven to provide good customer service
- Team working
Desirable skills / experience:
- MCIPD qualified/membership & current experience of working across the whole HR function
- Be able to evidence experience and knowledge of small- and large-scale entire TUPE processes
